Branding our President [one year later]

So here we are. We are almost a year into Obama’s first year. I saw it coming, he was super well branded, and despite what platform you support, this branding stuff makes a difference.

One year later Obama continues to gather support from young audiences, because he continues to push his message via social networks such as Twitter and Facebook. His live conference feeds and calls for support are brilliant. To this date, the only other candidate that is sufficiently doing this on the other side is McCain; but he is old news and his message is lost within the medium.

So what is the next push? What could be done better?
Well, the next push is remembering that you might be alienating the people who make the real money in this country. Obama has already been voted in, but his blazing trail is diminishing quickly, as are his ratings. It is time to start hitting those Town Hall’s and clubs around the country with better tie in’s to the social media campaigns….or we will in fact see a lackluster finish for our President.

Don’t abandon social media. Not at all, just remember it is just one tool.
